Parolee Accused Of Turning In Toilet Water For Drug-Test Sample
WOODSTOCK, Ill. (STMW) -- People have come up with some pretty clever ways to try to cheat on drug tests, but authorities say a northwest suburban parolee was not very original.
Now he's behind bars facing a felony charge.
Brian J. Uchwat, 29, of Schaumburg, arrived at the McHenry County government center on Wednesday for a court-ordered drug and alcohol screening, part of his probation agreement.
But according to the McHenry County Sheriff's office, what he turned in was a sample of water he removed from the toilet.
Uchwat, of 1640 Churchill Rd., was immediately arrested and is now charged with defrauding a drug and alcohol screening test, police said. He remained in custody at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility awaiting a bond hearing.
"Any attempt by a probationer to tamper with a court-ordered urine screen is considered a serious matter and requires an immediate response," McHenry County Court Services Director Phil Dailing said in a statement.
