Parole Violator Jumps From Balcony, Fails To Escape Police
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- A parole violator made dramatic leap from a balcony in Naperville in an attempt to escape police, but his plan didn't work.
As WBBM Newsradio's Pat Cassidy reports, Jermaine D. Fields-Alexander remained Thursday night in DuPage County Jail in Wheaton. Officials of the Illinois Department of Corrections in Springfield have placed a "no bond" hold on him, according to jail records.

Fields-Alexander, 18, until recently lived in an apartment building on the 1500 block of Jefferson Avenue on Naperville's west side. He was on parole for a crime he committed while a juvenile.
Kayce Ataiyero, a spokeswoman for the IDOC, declined to discuss the case due to Fields-Alexander's age at the time.
The violation came as a result of a Feb. 12 arrest in Bolingbrook, when he and three others were caught trying to break down someone's front door.
Police were called about 2:30 p.m. that day to a house on the 300 block of Grand Canyon Drive. A man called 911 to report four men trying to break down the door, police Lt. Mike Rompa said.
The suspects, who were unable to get inside the home, "then used bricks to break out the windows on a vehicle in the driveway" before police arrived, Rompa said. Damage was estimated at $1,200.
"The incident stemmed over Fields-Alexander currently dating the ex-girlfriend of the victim," Rompa said.
Fields-Alexander was arrested and charged with mob action and vandalism, as were Henry L. Wilkes, 20, who also lives on the 1500 block of Jefferson Avenue in Naperville; Reginald Baggett, 20, of the 200 block of Elmwood Drive, Naperville; and Ashton D. Borden, 17, of the 100 block of Robin Hood Way in Bolingbrook.
Baggett and Borden are free on bond, while Wilkes remained Thursday night in Will County Jail in Joliet. All are awaiting trial in Will County Circuit Court.
When Naperville police and Illinois Department of Corrections officials showed up at Fields-Alexander's home, he jumping right off the balcony of his third-floor apartment and then tried to flee on foot, Naperville police Sgt. Gregg Bell said. Police officers pursued and quickly captured him, he said.
Bell added police found three bullets inside Fields-Alexander's apartment, although a firearm to go with the bullets has not been mentioned,
Fields-Alexander now faces trial in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition and resisting or obstructing a police officer.
