Palatine Township Man Sentenced To 30 Years For Sexual Assaults Of Children
(STMW) -- A northwest suburban man was sentenced to prison Wednesday for having sexual contact with minors and taking more than 6 million pictures.
Daniel Sims, of Palatine Township, was sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, according to a release from the Cook County Sheriff's office.
An investigation into Sims began in November 2011 when a minor reported she was sexually assaulted by him from 2006 to 2011, police said. Detectives found more than 6 million images of him and his victims engaging in various sex acts.
Sims faced 72 felony counts, including predatory criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, child pornography, aggravated criminal sexual assault and possession of child pornography, according to the sheriff's office.
