Painter Staying At Purdue
It was reported earlier on Wednesday that Purdue head coach Matt Painter was likely leaving to become the coach of Missouri. However, Purdue officials have confirmed that Painter will remain with the university.
"We are thrilled to announce that Matt will continue his leadership of our men's basketball program at his alma mater," athletics director Morgan Burke said. "He has been at the helm of the winningest four-year period in the storied history of Boilermaker basketball, and we pledge to work with him to win championships."
Painter is 138-64 in six seasons at Purdue, after taking over for legendary coach Gene Keady.
