Packers' Woodson Ruled Out Vs Bears
(CBS) Green Bay Packers safety Charles Woodson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears, head coach Mike McCarthy announced Wednesday.
Woodson has missed six games with a broken collarbone and there was optimism that he would return against the Bears. Doctors, however, have not cleared Woodson to play.
Count Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall among those disappointed that Woodson won't go Sunday. He said earlier Wednesday that he hoped to see Woodson on the field because of some of the things he said after the Packers win over the Bears earlier this season.
"I want him out there because of some of the things they say," Marshall said. "I take it personal when someone takes jabs at the way I approach the game or my career so, yeah, I'm excited to see him out there at full speed."
The Packers remain hopeful that linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring) will be able to return Sunday. He had 3.5 sacks against the Bears when the teams met in Green Bay Sept. 13.
