Ozzie's Parting Message: 'F*** Chicago'
By Adam Hoge-
WRIGLEY FIELD (CBS) It's safe to say Ozzie Guillen was ready to go Pittsburgh after his Chicago homecoming was spoiled by the Cubs beating Mark Buehrle and Marlins 4-2 Thursday to win the three-game series.
Asked about how his four days back in his adopted hometown went aside from baseball, Ozzie chuckled and said:
"F*** Chicago. We're not going to talk about Chicago. Just talk about my ballclub."
Guillen went on to field tough questions about where his struggling team goes next with the trade deadline coming up. And that's how his tough week back in Chicago ended.
There was plenty of drama between Guillen and the media this week at Wrigley Field, but Buehrle didn't think it affected the clubhouse, despite the Marlins dropping the last two games.
"I think people knew coming in, Ozzie, Zambrano, myself coming back to the place you played your whole career at, so I don't think it's really affecting too many guys," the former White Sox pitcher said. "I'd rather the camera be on them anyways than us."
Thursday's loss will only increase the trade rumors surrounding the Marlins as they decide if they are buyers or sellers. They play the Pirates in Pittsburgh this weekend.
