Ozzie Open To Ryno As Bench Coach
When Ozzie Guillen sits in the broadcast booth for FOX this year, he'll be watching two players he managed back in 2005. "They're very special people to me, those guys were very very easy to manage," Ozzie said of Juan Uribe and Aaron Rowand.
After managing the White Sox to an 11-1 record, Ozzie might look back on those 2005 postseason as his finest managing stretch. However, Ozzie credited his players for making his job so easy that year.

"When I look back, every move we made clicked," Ozzie said. "Everything we did on the field worked. That's a time when you go out there and look like a genius...I think the players made it very easy for my coaching staff and myself."
One of those players, Paul Konerko, might not be back with the Whit Sox next season. "There's a lot of things out there: years, money, family issues," Ozzie said of Konerko's decision. "Right now I think it's too early to say 'he'll come back or not.'"
What Ozzie was able to talk about was bench coach Joey Cora interviewing for the Brewers managerial opening. While Ozzie admitted it would be a huge loss for the White Sox if Cora left, Ozzie said he deserves the job.
If Cora does get the Brewers job, Ozzie will have to find a new bench coach. One potential replacement, as suggested by Mully and Hanley, would be sure to cause quite a lot of noise amongst Cubs fans.
When asked about the idea of bringing Ryne Sandberg onto his staff Ozzie said, "you never know what's going to happen. I think Sandberg is a great baseball man...You need to hire coaches to help you win games...After so many years of playing in the big leagues and managing for a few years in the minor leagues, I don't see why [he] can't help you as a bench coach."
