Overnight Red, Blue Line Delays This Week
CHICAGO (STMW) - Overnight CTA construction is expected to cause minor delays on Red and Blue Line trains this week.
Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Sox-35th Street and Garfield stations from 11 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday while crews do track maintenance, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue at the same time the next four days, ending early Friday.
As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the 47th Street station, the CTA said.
On the Blue Line, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Montrose and Addison stations from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday while crews perform track maintenance, the CTA said. The work will continue the next four days, ending early Friday.
Passengers must board and exit all trains on the O'Hare - bound side of the platform at the Irving Park station, the CTA said.
Minor delays are expected and the CTA advises passengers to allow extra travel time.
