Overnight Red, Blue Line Delays This Week
CHICAGO (STMW) - Overnight CTA construction is expected to cause delays on the Red and Blue lines all week.
Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Sox-35th Street and Garfiled stations from 11 p.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Tuesday while crews do track maintenance, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue during the same times the rest of the week, ending early Friday.
As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the 47th Street station, the CTA said.
On the Blue Line, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the Addison and Montrose stations from 10 p.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Tuesday while crews do track maintenance, the CTA said. The work will continue during the same times the rest of the week, ending early Friday.
Passengers at the Irving Park station must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform during the time.
Minor delays are expected, and the CTA advises passengers to allow extra travel time.
