Overnight Delays Expected On Red, Blue And Green Lines This Week
CHICAGO (STMW) - Overnight CTA construction is expected to cause delays on the Red, Blue and Green lines this week. The CTA is advising passengers to allow extra travel time.
Red Line trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the 63rd Street and 79th Street stations from 10 p.m. Sunday until 4:30 a.m. Monday while crews perform track maintenance, according to the CTA's website. The work will continue at the same times through early Friday.
As a result, passengers must board and exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the 69th Street station, the CTA said.
On the Blue Line, trains in both directions will operate on the same track between the California and Belmont stations from 11 p.m. Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday, the CTA said. The work will continue at the same times through early Friday.
Passengers must board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Logan Square station when the work begins on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Passengers must board on the O'Hare-bound side when the work begins on Monday and Wedneday.
On the Green Line, trains in both direction will operate on the same track between the Central and Harlem stations from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, the CTA said. The work will continue at the same time late Wednesday into early Thursday.
Passengers must board and exit all trains on the 63rd Street-bound side of the platform at the Austin, Ridgeland and Oak Park stations, the CTA said.
Minor delays are expected and the CTA advises passengers to allow extra travel time.
