Over 1 Million To Travel Through Chicago Airports For Memorial Day
CHICAGO (CBS) -- More than a million passengers are expected to pass through Chicago's two major airports during the Memorial Day travel period, according to aviation officials.
Friday is expected to be the busiest single travel day of the weekend.
On Friday alone, nearly 199,900 passengers are expected to pass through O'Hare, while Midway will see nearly 65,000 passengers, according to a release from the city's Department of Aviation.

A combined 1.1 million passengers are expected to pass through the city's two major airports during the holiday travel period, which lasts through Monday, the release said.
To commemorate the holiday, both airports will play patriotic music in the terminals and display red, white and blue decorations along with a message of appreciation to military members on roadway LED signs, the release said.
USO volunteers will be on hand at O'Hare to provide baked goods, water and informational pamphlets to military personnel, the release said. Flags at both airports will also be lowered to half-staff on Memorial Day.
