Oswego Woman's Stabbing Story Doesn't Add Up
KENDALL COUNTY (CBS) -- Last week there was a story of a 57-year-old Oswego woman who said she'd been stabbed in a home invasion. Now, the Kendall County Sheriff's office says the woman's story is false and that her injury was apparently self-inflicted.
The sheriff's office in Kendall County had put out a description of a suspect, based on what the victim told them: a tall black man in his late 30s with short hair, wearing a black T-shirt.
Authorities had said the woman told them the man stabbed her in the chest , pushed her down and left.

Now the Kendall County Sheriff has issued a statement which says: "The victim stated that injuries she received as a result of the stabbing may have been received as she was using a paring knife in her kitchen."
A spokesman for the sheriff's office says the Oswego woman was treated for a stab wound to the chest and is now home.
The spokesman says the Kendall County state's attorney is reviewing the case.
