Ostrowski: Best Daily Fantasy Plays For Week 15
By Joe Ostrowski–
(CBS) Here's a look at the players to have in mind if you're playing daily fantasy for Week 15.
QB in cash games: Seahawks' Russell Wilson vs. Browns
In Wilson's last four games, he's averaged 318 total yards. Throw in 17 total touchdowns and zero interceptions over that span, and you have the NFL's hottest quarterback. According to Vegas, Seattle has the second-highest team points total of the week. The string of positive matchups continues with Cleveland. Cornerback Joe Haden has struggled, but the Browns are now forced to go to backups with Haden on injured reserve.
Another option: Lions' Matthew Stafford at Saints
QB in tournaments: Packers' Aaron Rodgers at Raiders
Rodgers was owned in less than two percent of Thursday's contests. He always has the potential for a blowup game, but they've been few and far between this season. He has more than two touchdowns in only three games. Last year at this point in the season, Rodgers did that eight times. Oakland's secondary could get exposed.
Another option: Chargers' Philip Rivers vs. Dolphins
RB in cash games: Vikings' Adrian Peterson vs. Bears
In 13 games against the Bears, Peterson has 1,499 yards and 14 scores. At Soldier Field, he went for 103 yards on 20 carries last month. According to Football Outsiders, the Bears are dead last against the rush.
Another option: Cardinals' David Johnson at Eagles
RB in tournaments: Patriots' Brandon Bolden vs. Titans
Who's New England's hammer? Which running back will the Patriots go to once a game is out of hand? LeGarrette Blount was put on injured reserve with a hip injury. Bolden finished up with 16 rushes last week, and he didn't touch the ball until the second quarter. The Patriots are favored by two touchdowns, have the week's highest team total and Bolden's ownership has been around four percent.
Another option: Falcons' Devonta Freeman at Jaguars
WR in cash games: Falcons' Julio Jones at Jaguars
Odell Beckham and Antonio Brown have tough matchups. A.J. Green's quarterback is now A.J. McCarron. It's time for Jones to explode. Jones has had double-digit targets in 11 of 13 games. Former Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall is now a starting cornerback for Jacksonville, and Jones moves all over the field. Marshall played 55 snaps last week after sitting the previous nine contests. This game has the third-highest game total of the week.
Another option: Cardinals' John Brown/Michael Floyd at Eagles
WR in tournaments: Giants' Odell Beckham Jr vs. Panthers
A matchup against Josh Norman is the only time you'll have the opportunity to get Beckham at an ownership level of single digits. Beckham has six straight 100-yard games, including 152 yards per game over the last three. Norman has shut down Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Dez Bryant and T.Y. Hilton. Norman doesn't play in the slot, and Beckham lines up there 24-percent of the time.
Another option: Bears' Alshon Jeffery at Vikings
TE in cash games: Saints' Ben Watson vs. Lions
The 35-year old Watson has been targeted at least eight times over the last three games. Detroit has given up 10 touchdowns to tight ends, the second-most in the league. Detroit-New Orleans is tied for the second-highest game total of the week.
Another option: Washington's Jordan Reed vs. Bills
TE in tournaments: Browns' Gary Barnidge at Seahawks
Barnidge has a touchdown in each of Johnny Manziel's last two starts. According to Football Outsiders, Seattle ranks 28th defending tight ends. Cleveland will be trailing throughout, and Barnidge's ownership is around three percent.
Another option: Lions' Eric Ebron at Saints
