Ostrowski: Best Daily Fantasy Plays For Week 10
By Joe Ostrowski--
(CBS) FanDuel and DraftKings have filed separate lawsuits against New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who sent cease-and-desist letters to the two companies Wednesday. We discussed this issue Thursday night on The Laurence Holmes Show.
QB in cash games: Washington's Kirk Cousins vs. Saints
Anyone can give you Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, but here's the 21st-priced quarterback on FanDuel. Cousins has averaged 42 pass attempts over his last six games, and this matchup presents one of the highest game totals of the week. This is really a play against New Orleans' pass defense. The Saints have given up 26 touchdowns to quarterbacks, six more than any other team in the league.
Another option: Packers' Aaron Rodgers vs. Lions
QB in tournaments: Cardinals' Carson Palmer at Seahawks
Throwing against Richard Sherman is always a difficult proposition, but Palmer's smart enough to attack weak cornerback Cary Williams instead. Seattle's defense has allowed at least 27 points in four games. Arizona is coming off the bye and is second in scoring, at 32.9 points per game. Palmer was owned in less than one percent of contests that started Thursday night.
Another option: Ravens' Joe Flacco vs. Jaguars
RB in cash games: Steelers' DeAngelo Williams vs. Browns
Williams is still underpriced as the RB6 on FanDuel. Pittsburgh has given Le'Veon Bell's entire workload to him. Williams has averaged 25 touches in his three starts, and the Steelers are five-point home favorites. In limited time, his 24 red-zone rushing attempts puts Williams tied for seventh in the NFL. Cleveland is giving up 148 rushing yards per game, last in the league.
Another option: Rams' Todd Gurley vs. Bears
RB in tournaments: Buccaneers' Doug Martin vs. Cowboys
Prior to last week's 13-touch game, Martin was averaging 25 touches per contest over a four-week period. Many players will stay away due to recency bias, but Dallas allows the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs, and outside linebacker Sean Lee is out. Lee is near the top at run stop percentage for outside linebackers, according to Pro Football Focus.
Another option: Bengals' Jeremy Hill vs. Texans
WR in cash games: Broncos' Demaryius Thomas vs. Chiefs
Thomas is the eighth-priced wide receiver on FanDuel, because he only has one touchdown. Kansas City allows more fantasy points to receivers than any other team. Thomas' mother was released from prison earlier this week, and this will allow her to watch her son play football at any level for the first time. You think Peyton Manning won't continue to target Thomas in this great matchup?
Another option: Jaguars' Allen Robinson at Ravens
WR in tournaments: Cowboys' Dez Bryant at Buccaneers
Bryant's locker room tirade doesn't have anything to do with this call. This will be Bryant's third game back from injury, and he doesn't need motivation. The elite wideout went for 104 yards last week while drawing multiple pass interference penalties. Tampa Bay has allowed 19 passing touchdowns on the year.
Another option: Ravens' Kamar Aiken vs. Jaguars
TE in cash games: Patriots' Rob Gronkowski at Giants
Not that you ever need a great matchup to play Gronk, but we have one. The Giants allow the second-most yards per game to tight ends. Gronk leads the position with 16 red-zone targets. Running back Dion Lewis has been 14.3 percent of New England's passing offense, and he's out for the season. In the other game Lewis missed, Gronkowski was targeted 16 times.
Another option: Washington's Jordan Reed vs. Saints
TE in tournaments: Browns' Gary Barnidge at Steelers
Josh McCown's return is great news for Barnidge. With McCown under center, Barnidge had a stretch of scoring six touchdowns in six games. Pittsburgh has allowed opposing tight ends to score seven touchdowns in nine games. Barnidge's ownership was below five percent in Thursday contests.
Another option: Vikings' Kyle Rudolph at Raiders
