Orland Township Firefighter Busted In Sex Sting, Thought Chat Partner Was 13

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (CBS) -- An Orland Township firefighter has been charged after allegedly sending explicit messages and pictures to what he thought was a 13-year old girl.

As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Berner reports, prosecutors said Dean Milenkovic, 46, was really talking to an undercover investigator back in February, and not a middle school-aged girl from Iowa.

Milenkovic was charged with felony grooming after sending naked photos and a sex video to the undercover investigator.

On Thursday, Bridgeview Court Judge Terence B. Smith set Milenkovic's bond at $30,000 and banned him from using the Internet, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said.

Milenkovic, of the 11200 block of Marley Brook Court in Orland township, identified himself in a Yahoo chatroom as a 43-year-old from Joliet and asked the "girl" to join him in a private chat, prosecutors said at the hearing.

He asked her for a photo, then sent two of himself. As quoted by the Chicago Tribune, charging documents indicate that the first photo showed Milenkovic wearing a T-shirt and a baseball cap, while in the second, he was sitting in a chair showing his naked penis.

Identifying himself as "Dean" on March 8, Milenkovic sat in a chair in front of a computer, naked from the waist down, and began masturbating as he asked his partner to help him. After he was done masturbating, he held up a shot glass prove he had ejaculated, prosecutors said.

Video showed that about a week later, he chatted again with the investigator he thought was "13/f/Iowa" about sex, again using a shot glass.

On April 12, police were told Milenkovic had reached out again to his chat partner, wanting to see her body and set up a meeting.

Questioned by police, Milenkovic identified himself in the video chat, prosecutors said, and said he knew his online partner was 13.

The Orland Township Fire Protection District could not be reached immediately for comment. Neither could Milenkovic. A message left at his home Thursday afternoon was not returned.

Milenkovic has been employed by the Orland Township Fire Protection District since 1996.

The Orland Park Patch published a statement released by the fire protection district. The statement said Milenkovic has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

District Chief Ken Brucki has made all employees aware of what happened, and counseling is available to those who are distressed by the news, the Patch reported.
