Opening Of City Ice Rinks Delayed Due To Weather
CHICAGO (STMW) - The bad news is the city is delaying opening its outdoor ice rinks; the good news is it's because it's too warm outside.
The rinks were scheduled to open Saturday, but warm temperatures are forcing the city to push that date back, a Wednesday release from the city said.
The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures will be in the mid-50s to low 60s for the Chicago area through Saturday, but expects a drop to a high of 42 with a chance of snow by Sunday.
The rinks are still expected to open within a few days of the planned date, weather permitting, the release said. The city recommends contacting individual rinks to confirm they are open next week.
