One Person Dead, Another Hurt In I-57 Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A person was killed and another person was ejected after a sports-utility vehicle crashed while traveling west on U.S. Route 30 toward northbound lanes on I-57 in south suburban Matteson Wednesday night, according to Illinois State Police.
The single-vehicle accident happened about 11:17 p.m., state police said, adding that the westbound ramp from U.S Route 30 heading toward I-57 remained closed early Thursday as investigators collected details.
Jevon Denton, 28, of the 10300 block of South Union Avenue, was killed in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Another person who had been ejected from the SUV was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
