One Dead, One Wounded In South Side Shootings
CHICAGO (STMW) - One man was killed and another wounded in separate shootings about 90 minutes apart on the South Side early Saturday.
The first victim suffered a gunshot to the side of the body about 12:35 a.m. on the 7400 block of South Evans Ave., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The victim's age was unknown and no other details were immediately available, Alfaro said.
A few miles west, at 2:10 a.m., a 20-year-old man was walking outside about a block from his home when he was shot in the back in the 1500 block of West 71st Street, Alfaro said.
The victim heard shots and felt pain in the back, police said.
The man, Trevor Williams, 20, of the 7000 block of Soth Bishop St., was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:13 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one was in custody.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating these shootings.
