One Dead, One Wounded In South Side Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another wounded in a Washington Park neighborhood shooting Wednesday night on the South Side, police said.
The men, 39 and 40, were shot about 6:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien, citing preliminary information.
The younger man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.
The other man was shot in the hip and buttocks and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in "stable" condition, police said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
