One Dead, One Hurt In West Englewood Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man lay dead while another was taken to a hospital in serious condition following a Thursday night shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened about 9:20 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Honore Street, said police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.
The men were sitting on a porch when a gunman walked up and fired shots, striking two men, police said.
He fled the scene on foot.
When police arrived, Brian Cross, 34, was dead from multiple gunshots, police said.
A 35-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to Fire Media Affairs.
A third person fled the scene after the shooting but was not injured, according to authorities.
No one was in custody late Thursday.
