One Arrested After Shootout With Police In West Pullman
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One person is in custody after police were shot at while responding to a gunfight in the Far South Side West Pullman neighborhood Monday night.
The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Princeton Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Gunshots were fired at and by the police during the confrontation, but no one was hurt, Greer said.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden said suspects shot at police after officers after responded to a call of shots fired, and found a gunfight already in progress among several people.
One male suspect turned and pointed a weapon at police while running away, Camden said. Police chased and shot at him, but did not shoot him.
He is in custody and charges are pending, authorities said. Area South detectives are investigating.
