Olsen: Waiving Moss Is 'Shocking'
News of the Minnesota Vikings reportedly waiving Randy Moss sent ripples of reaction across the NFL Monday, including Halas Hall. Bears' tight end Greg Olsen joined Zach Zaidman on 670 The Score Monday night and said he was surprised by the news.
"I think it comes as a shock," he said. "I think when you trade a third round pick in the middle of the season for a proven guy, a big play guy -- what did he play for them? Two games, two or three games? You gave up a third round pick for that. To see them just straight wave him is shocking."
Olsen admitted the move "definitely raises some questionmarks" about Randy Moss' character, but ultimately came to the wide receivers defense.
"To make that judgement on the outside would kind of be unfair," Olsen said. "I think the only people who really know what he's like and what that situation was are his teammates and coaches at both Minnesota and New England. It's hard to say, obviously everyone wants to speculate that there was issues and he caused problems and whatnot, but no one really knows that to be the case."
Olsen also addressed the Bears issues and said the offense "definitely works" but admitted the team would like to run the ball more.
