Olsen: Still Not Where We Need To Be
The Bears used their bye week to reevaluate themselves both offensively and defensively. They came out of that week off, with confidence and a mindset to put themselves in the position they're in now.
"Since we came out of the bye, we said each week we just need to continue to take another step and get better," Greg Olsen said. "And over these last four weeks I think it's pretty safe to say that we've done that. By no means are are we where we need to be to be a playoff team that can make a run at this thing. So we need to keep getting better."
If this sounds like something you've heard before then you would be right. This is the mentality that Lovie Smith preaches and his players have embraced. Their focus remains on improving each week with the goal of not peaking, only continued improvement.
"I think yesterday was another good opportunity to play a good team and play well," Olsen said. "And I think for the most part we did. And each week from here on out through the rest of the regular season, it's going to take those kinds of efforts to win."
