Ojeda, Scales Among Cubs' Roster Cuts
The Chicago Cubs have sent five players to minor league camp and reduced their spring training roster to 31 players, the team announced on Thursday.
The Cubs optioned Fernando Perez to Triple-A Iowa and sent infielders Matt Camp, Scott Moore, Augie Ojeda and Bobby Scales to minor league camp.
The Cubs' roster is now made up of 16 pitchers, four catchers, six infielders, and five outfielders.
The regular season begins on April 1, when the Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley Field.
