Oilers Slip Past Blackhawks... Again
(WSCR) - About a week ago, the Edmonton Oilers gave the Chicago Blackhawks their worst loss of the season. The Blackhawks led the Oilers 1-0 into the third period when the Oilers scored twice within a 14 second span for the win.
CHICAGO (AP) Kurtis Foster and Sam Gagner scored 14 seconds apart in the third period, and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 on Sunday night.
Nikolai Khabibulin made 26 saves for Edmonton, which improved to 2-2-2 on road this season and 4-23-3 in its last 30 road games dating to December 2009.
Both of the Oilers' road wins this season have been in Chicago against the defending Stanley Cup champions, who dropped to 4-6-0 at home. Edmonton defeated the Blackhawks 7-4 at the United Center on Oct. 29.
Ex-Oiler Fernando Pisani scored for Chicago, which got 24 saves from backup Corey Crawford in his fourth start and fifth game of the season.
Blackhawks star forward Marian Hossa returned after missing five games with a shoulder injury.
