Off-Duty Officer Fatally Shoots Burglary Suspect In Lincoln Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An off-duty Chicago cop shot and killed a burglary suspect late Saturday in Lincoln Park.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden says the suspect threatened the officers life, giving, him no choice.

"He was telling him put your hand up, the guy threatened to kill him and was walking toward him. At that point, the officer fires two shots," said Camden.
The man died at the scene. Camden says the officer was walking home through his neighborhood around 1900 North Lincoln Avenue when he spotted the suspect on a back porch with a backpack and a flashlight.
"There is no reason this guy should have been up on the back porch with the flash light in his hand. It is obvious what he was doing," said Camden.
Police confirm that the home where the officer noticed the suspect was burglarized. The officer repeatedly identified himself and ordered the man to come down. When he finally did, Camden says he had one hand in his waistband where the officer couldn't see it.
"Bottom line was the officer is defending himself," said Camden.
Chicago Police are still working to identify a man shot and killed by an off-duty officer late last night.
