Obama Will Stay Out Of NFL Labor Talks
President Barack Obama had a clear message for the NFL and the players' union: I don't intend to get involved in your labor dispute and you should be able to work things out so each side has enough money.
As the NFL and the players' union held talks near the White House to avoid a work stoppage, Obama said at a news conference that an industry making $9 billion a year should find a way to divide up all those dollars.
Obama said "I've got a lot of other stuff to do," - such as the crisis in Libya. There's a midnight deadline to reach a new contract.
The NFL hasn't had a work stoppage since 1987. Failure to reach a new contract would jeopardize the 2011 NFL season.
