Oak Lawn Police Seek Man In Stabbing
OAK LAWN, Ill. (STMW) -- Police are looking for a resident who stabbed another resident Monday night after a confrontation in an alley in southwest suburban Oak Lawn, police said.
The 35-year-old victim was riding his bicycle through the alley near 97th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Oak Lawn about 10 p.m. when he exchanged words with a boy younger than 14 who was setting off fireworks, Oak Lawn police said.
They said the boy's father confronted the victim and stabbed him in the stomach with a knife before fleeing, the SouthtownStar is reporting.
The victim went to a nearby house for assistance and was taken to Christ Medical Center, where he was treated and released a few hours later, according to police.
They said the two men had no prior relationship.
