Man Charged With Fatal Oak Forest Stabbing
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Bond was set at $1 million Saturday for a south suburban man charged with stabbing another man to death during a domestic fight late Thursday in Oak Forest.
Emergency crews were called about 11 p.m. to a home in the 15100 block of Chaucer Drive, where they found 33-year-old Christopher Orth stabbed multiple times, according to Oak Forest police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Orth was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died about an hour later, authorities said. He lived in the 5100 block of Bellaire Road in Oak Forest.
The attack was thought to be "an isolated incident stemming from a domestic violence situation," according to a police statement.
Alsip resident Juan L. Gonzalez-Sanchez was arrested at the scene and charged Friday with first-degree murder, police said.
The 37-year-old appeared in bond court Saturday, where Judge Peggy Chiampas ordered him held on a $1 million bond, according to Cook County Circuit Court records. Gonzalez-Sanchez is due back in court Tuesday.
