Nuggets Fire NBA's Coach Of The Year George Karl
(CBS) In a move that will certainly raise some eyebrows around the league, the Nuggets have fired NBA Coach of the Year George Karl.
Karl was entering the final year of his contract and upper management was unwilling to commit to him long term, Yahoo! Sports reports.
The report cites sources who claim Karl was extremely unhappy about the possibility of entering the final year of his contract without an extension.
Karl coached nine seasons in Denver, winning 1,131 games for a .599 winning percentage.
