Notre Dame Confirms Lewis-Moore Tore ACL In Title Game
(CBS) Notre Dame defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore tore his right ACL in Monday night's BCS National Championship Game, the school confirmed Thursday.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of Notre Dame's 42-14 loss to Alabama in South Florida.
Lewis-Moore will undergo surgery within the next two weeks and the recovery time is expected to be four to six months. He has used up his college eligibility, which makes his NFL future murky. A team may be inclined to use a late-round draft pick on him with the hope he will be able to help down the road. Otherwise, Lewis-Moore will have to hope he's healthy enough for an NFL training camp invite in July.
