Northwestern To Prepare For Nebraska With 'Mandatory Cat Nap'
(CBS) Northwestern hosts Nebraska Saturday in the biggest home game of the season. And how will the Wildcats get ready for the Cornhuskers on game day?
With a "cat nap".
The game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CT and that clashes with what is usually nap time for the players during the week. According to the Chicago Tribune, Pat Fitzgerald noticed that his team came out sluggish in the only other 2:30 start this season, Sept. 15 against Boston College. When he asked his players about it, they told him that they usually take a nap in the afternoon after morning practice and classes.
Thus, Fitzgerald made an adjustment to this week's pre-game schedule, although begrudgingly.
"Unbelievable," he told the Tribune. "This is what I get paid to do. Seriously. Create nap time. It's pathetic."
Wednesday, he confirmed on Twitter that his team indeed has a "mandatory cat nap" scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Saturday before his team takes on Nebraska.
