Northwestern, Stanford To Renew Football Series
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) Northwestern and Stanford are two of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country, and starting in 2019 the two schools will resume playing each other in football.
The Wildcats will host the first game and head to Palo Alto the following year, with games at Northwestern in 2021 and Stanford in 2022.
The schools have played six times, most recently a 41-41 tie in 1994. In a statement released Wednesday, Northwestern athletic director Jim Phillips says he's "thrilled" to add Stanford to the schedule.
