Noise From Music Fest At Chicagoland Speedway Has Neighbors Up In Arms
JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) -- It's an electronic dance music festival, not race cars, making noise this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet. And as WBBM's Bob Roberts reports, some people are up in arms about it.

Most of the complaints seem to be coming from the east of the Chicagoland Speedway in new Lenox, Frankfort and Mokena as grandstands protect the other three sides.
Bill Crimmins says he does noise studies for a living and says this is far from the ordinary.
"This is crazy. We have numerous races at the Speedway here every year. You hear a little bit of it in the background, in fact you kind of forget that it is there because it is just kind of a background noise. This dwarfs the amount of noise beyond belief," said Crimmins.
Crimmins says he will set up noise-measuring instruments to prove his point, but another person contacted by Newsradio lives a mile north of the Speedway heard nothing except a few fireworks.
