No Pressure On Morel To Play Above Abilites

As a 23-year old rookie third baseman on a team with high aspirations for the season, it wouldn't be out of the reign of possibility for Brent Morel to feel some pressure to play at a higher level than he's capable.

But that's not the case, and the Chicago White Sox are confident their young third baseman will do just what the team needs.

The White Sox have made it clear to him what he needs to do to maintain his role as the team's starter.

"Nothing really, just kind of be myself," Morel said on the Laurence Holmes Show. "You know, play some good defense and get some hits here and there."

One of the reasons the White Sox aren't asking too much of Morel is becuase they know the rest of the lineup will be dangerous. And that gives Morel the luxury of developing his offense at his own pace.

"You know, we're pretty strong one through nine," Morel said. "Not a lot of pressure on me to do too much, and just trying to be myself."
