No Need To Worry About Garza's Rocky Spring

Matt Garza's first spring training with the Chicago Cubs didn't go the way that he, the Cubs or the fans would have wanted.

Garza blames the weather for his rocky spring, but some are still concerned that he won't pitch well.

"I don't have that concern," Ken Rosenthal, of FOX Sports, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I tend to, one, lean on the side of the veteran player in spring training. And two, in his case, I buy what he's saying. It is an adjustment, Arizona is different [from Florida]. Let's see how he pitches once the real games start.

"I would imagine he's going to pitch well. He's an emotional guy, he's a guy that, sort of like [Carlos] Zambrano, wears those emotions, but he's also a very accomplished pitcher, and one who has done it in the American League East. So I would expect that he's going to be OK. Ace-like? I'm not sure about that, but number three [starter] at least."

Garza is currently positioned as the Cubs third starting pitcher, he'll make his Wrigley Field debut on Sunday agaisnt the Pittsburgh Pirates.
