No Claim For McNabb, Now A Free Agent
(CBS) One day after his release from the Vikings, Donovan McNabb cleared waivers without a team claiming him.
McNabb, 34, is now an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team.
The veteran quarterback figures to draw interest from teams around the league such as the Bears and the Texans.
Although Bears head coach Lovie Smith didn't seem to like the idea of bringing McNabb in to back up Caleb Hanie.
"I like our quarterbacks we have here right now," Smith said. "I'm not going to start talking about guys from the outside. That should be enough for you. We have three quarterbacks here, we like them, we're anxious to play Kansas City this week, how's that?"
