Judge Ramon Ocasio ordered Tyrone Maxwell held without bond during a Sunday hearing.

"I believe he poses...a threat to the community,'' Ocasio said during the hearing.

Maxwell was dressed in tan jail garb and when Ocasio asked Maxwell if he wanted to say anything, he said "no."

Maxwell, 20, of the 1300 block of West Gladys, is charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated robbery, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

On Thursday, Maxwell was pulled out of Cook County Jail where he was for an unrelated parole violation, after DNA evidence linked him to the crime, according to Perez.

The alleged assault happened at 6:50 p.m. Dec. 21, 2010 as the victim was walking home from a train station in the Lake View area, and a suspect approached her from behind and demanded money.

Asst. State's Atty. Chris Costello told Ocasio that Maxwell walked up behind the woman as she was walking in the 1300 block of West Barry and as she turned to see who was there, the man put an "object" to her head, told her he had a gun and demanded money.

She gave him her wallet and he then directed her to a nearby alley where a brutal sexual assault unfolded with the man repeatedly punching her in the face.

The woman at some point grabbed her phone and sent a text message to her boyfriend saying she was raped. At one point, the suspect ran off and the woman ran to her apartment where police were called and she went to a hospital, prosecutors said.
