NIU To Introduce Montogmery As Basketball Coach
DEKALB, Ill. (CBS) -- Northern Illinois University is set Thursday to introduce Mark Montgomery as its new head basketball coach.
Montgomery takes over the Huskies after 10 seasons at Michigan State University, working under Head Coach Tom Izzo. He has coached in three NCAA Final Fours, according to a news release.
Montgomery is a native of Inkster, Mich., and previously spent four years as an assistant coach at Central Michigan. He was also a four-year starter at Michigan State between 1988 and 1992.
NIU will introduce Montgomery at a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
