Nine Hurt When Bus, 3 Cars Collide
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Nine people including a child were hurt during a collision involved three cars and a CTA bus Sunday morning on the Northwest Side, according to the fire department.
The crash occurred at 10:47 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Diversey Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak
About 11 a.m. an EMS Plan I, which sends at least five ambulances to the scene, was initiated for the collision with a CTA bus and three cars at Cicero and Diversey avenues, according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor.
One child was taken to Children's Memorial Hospital in an unidentified condition, he said.
Three others were seriously hurt, while five others were in fair and good condition at three different hospitals : Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and Norwegian-American Hospital, MacGregor said.
As of noon, the ambulance plan was secured.
