Nine Arrested After Protesters Lock Themselves In Building At U Of C
(CBS) -- Firefighters had to cut through bike locks at a U of C administrative building Wednesday night after protesters, demanding a meeting with administrators over a trauma center, locked themselves into a vestibule.
The University of Chicago says the problem is: that was the only entrance for the physically disabled, so it became a safety hazard, and rescue workers had to be called in to remove the locks and protesters.
Campus police arrested nine people.
