Niles Takes Glenview To Court Over Water Bill
CHICAGO (STMW) - The Village of Niles filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Village of Glenview, alleging Glenview is refusing to pay Niles for water it provided for north suburban customers this spring.
Niles claims Glenview owes it about $698,000 for water that Glenview distributed to about 44,000 non-resident customers, according to a press release from the Village of Niles.
The suit claims Glenview stopped paying for the water supply about a month ago because it wants to audit Niles records. Glenview claims Niles is including a sewer charge in the water Niles buys from Chicago and distributes throughout the northern suburbs via the North Maine Utilities.
Niles claims that Glenview breached a longstanding agreement between the village, and is seeking an order forcing Glenview to comply fully with the terms of their agreement, the release said.
