Nike Helps Resurface Lakefront, Donates Mile Markers
CHICAGO (CBS) Sportswear giant Nike is making it easier for athletes to find their way along Chicago's lakefront.
Nike has spent $100,000 to resurface the lakefront, and as a bonus, applied a portion of that donation to add visible mile markers that some believe were so desperately needed.

A spokesperson with the Chicago Park District said the 36 new green and beige mile and half mile markers were installed with the help of the Active Transportation Alliance.
Some critics object to the corporate sponsorship of the path, but officials say the city didn't have the money for the upgrade.
