Niemi Arbitrator to Rule Saturday
After Antti Niemi and the Blackhawks met in an arbitration meeting Thursday to determine the goaltender's salary for the up coming season, both sides must wait. The arbitrator will have a decision sometime Saturday fora ruling and will have 48 hours to make their decision to accept, trade, or walk away.
The Blackhawks have strategies already mapped out and still hold high confidence for the season. The team has had Niemi in mind for taking the goaltender position, but there have been some talks with Huet's agent in preparing for the arbitration ruling. The Blackhawks are also looking at possible free agents if they have to.
