NHL Linesman Busted In Case Of Hawks' Missing Puck
CHICAGO (CBS) It's been nearly a year since Patrick Kane buried home a goal in overtime to give the Blackhawks their first Stanley Cup since 1961.
And ever since that moment, no one has been able to figure out where that Stanley Cup-winning puck went.
The exact location of the puck is still unknown, but newly discovered Chicago Tribune photos clearly show linesman Steve Miller not only touching the puck -- which he has repeatedly denied -- but also picking it up and skating off with it.
Miller is once again officiating the Stanley Cup Finals and when the Tribune confronted him in Boston with the photos, the linesman again denied knowing anything about it.
"I pick up a thousand pucks a year," Miller told the Tribune. "You can ask me what I did with a puck 10 minutes ago. I can't remember every single thing I do with a puck."
But considering the moment -- a Stanley Cup winning goal in overtime -- and the evidence showing Miller has repeatedly lied about touching the puck, it appears the linesman knows a lot more than he is letting off.
