NFL Negotiations To Continue Through Weekend
CHICAGO (CBS) NFL owners and players will work through the weekend in an effort to complete a new collective bargaining agreement that would end the lockout.
The two sides released a statement Friday that said:
"The discussions this week have been constructive and progress has been made on a wide range of issues. Our legal and financial teams will continue to work through the weekend. We will continue to respect the confidentiality orders of Chief Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan and will therefore refrain from commenting on specific issues or aspects of the negotiations. We will provide additional information as developments in this process continue."
Reports this week indicate that the two sides have come to an agreement on a new rookie wage scale, one of the sticking points in negotiations. Key figures on both sides of the negotiations have expressed optimism in recent days.
