NFL And Players' Union Enter Fourth Day Of Mediation
A cancellation of all, or part, of the 2011 NFL season would be devastating for fans.
So hopefully the continued mediation sessions between the NFL and NFLPA will lead to progress in the negotiations.
The NFL and its players' union are meeting with a federal mediator for the fourth day in a row.
Members of the NFL's negotiating team began arriving at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service at 8 a.m. Monday. Commissioner Roger Goodell walked in alone shortly after 9 a.m.
NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith got to the office of mediator George Cohen at about 11 a.m.
After months of infrequent - and sometimes contentious - bargaining, the league and union met Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a total of more than 20 hours.
The NFL's labor deal expires at the end of the day March 3. The union has said it believes team owners want to lock out the players as soon as the next day, which could threaten the 2011 season.
