New Trier Parents Warned Of Pot-Laced Brownie Sales
WINNETKA (WBBM) -- Parents of children at New Trier High School were sent notices yesterday about drug-laced brownies potentially being sold to their children.
The email from New Trier Supt. Dr. Linda Yonke says a student was arrested this week on suspicion of selling marijuana-laced brownies to fellow students.

Yonke says the school administration takes the matter very seriously and is working with police in their investigation.
The Winnetka school has also taken what Yonke calls, "firm disciplinary action" against the student involved.
The note reminds parents that sometimes illegal drugs are hidden in baked goods and that using marijuana and other drugs that way can have serious consequences.
The e-mail goes on to say, "This incident presents an opportunity for the school and for parents to talk with our students about the legal, social, and health-related risks of drug or alcohol abuse, and we want to make sure that our students and parents understand the dangers of this type of drug use."
