New Look Bleachers In Left, Center Field Debut At Wrigley Field
CHICAGO (CBS) --The newly remodeled bleachers in left and center field at Wrigley Field are open for the first time this season for Monday night's Cubs-Mets game.
CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez was at the ballpark testing out the new bleachers and reports construction was still going there Monday.
The left field bleachers include a new combined standing/seating section called "The Well," designed to accommodate 15-50 fans. The Well is the first two rows of bleachers above the left field wall, a standing-room only section, for groups of 15 to 50 fans. Tickets for The Well generally cost about 20 percent more than the average price.
Also debuting Monday is the Left Field Porch, a mix of standing room and bleacher seating for groups up to 100 people underneath the new left field video board.
Food and beverage packages will be available for the new areas, and the Cubs hope corporation groups and bachelor parties take advantage of the new sections.
The renovated bleachers also have more concessions and wider walkways.
The Cubs' initial renovation plans called for the bleachers to be done by opening day, but construction delays pushed the date back until May and June.
The mini jumbotron in right field is also making its debut tonight.
