New Hospital May Be Coming To Huntley

HUNTLEY, Ill. (CBS) -- New jobs, and a boost to health care, could soon be coming to southern McHenry County.
WBBM Newsradio 780's Pat Cassidy reports Centegra Health System is planning to build a $233 million hospital in Huntley, which officials say could put 1,100 people to work in permanent positions. A total of 800 construction jobs will also be created, according to the Daily Herald.

The facility will be the first hospital in Huntley, and will be built on an existing health care campus at Haligus and Read roads, the Daily Herald reported.
The 360,000 square-foot Centegra Hospital-Huntley would have 128 beds, an emergency department, a level II nursery, a dedicated women's center, a helipad, and services for noninvasive cardiology, the Daily Herald reported.
The hospital still needs approval from the Illinois Facilities Planning Board, but Huntley trustee Pam Fender tells the Daily Herald that not one person in Huntley thinks it's a bad idea.
